Notification - EMail system
Flying Fleet does NOT send notifications/emails (later called notifications in this document) directly, instead notifications are first stored in the so called "Notification Pool" which can be accessed by admins via the menu "System" => "Notification Pool".
Notifications appear in the notification pool and are processed by priority and then as first in first out. Sent notifications can be browsed by clicking the "Sent Notifications" button at the bottom of the page.
Email settings usually define a delay between emails, ensuring the mailbox is not blocked due to spamming restrictions, this introduces the complication that, for example, while sending the monthly bills, a huge list of notifications pile up in the notification pool, which could lead to important messages like Customs notifications and other arriving too late. To avoid such cases Flying Fleet's notifications have a priority, therefore ensuring Customs notifications to be processed before the new bills.
The notification pool can be stopped and resumed at any point of time. Usually test instance have their notification pool stopped by default. When the notification pool is stopped, notifications will be kept in the notification pool but not processed.
Sent notifications are kept 4 months before being automatically cleaned up.
