How it works - the voucher concept
For Customers
Customers learn about your sightseeing voucher options via your website. Your website links to your Flying Fleet instance. Customers must identify themselves by entering their email address, which is verified by a unique validation code. This ensures that customers retain access to their purchased vouchers later on.
After purchasing one or several vouchers, the customer can book a flight slot matching the criteria of the purchased voucher via the slot availability calendar. Depending on the type of voucher, only matching flight slots can be booked (e.g., maximum number of passengers, flight instructor required, special type of aircraft, etc.).
The system will also detect how many seats a voucher comprises and match it with the number of available seats.
For Sightseeing Flight Pilots
The pilot sets aircraft reservations in the slot availability calendar according to the planned activity type.
For Admins
Admins have control over the status of each voucher and, of course, over planned slots and flights.
Configuration of the voucher system
Admin settings
Prerequisites
- Setup => Aircraft
- Setup => Article
- Setup => Reservation Type
Basic setup
Here you create and configure the vouchers you intend to sell.
- Setup => Voucher Shop => Create new voucher article
Advanced options
You may set and edit the text of the confirmation messages that customers receive from the system.
Editing your graphic voucher layout
When you edit an SVG voucher template, you are modifying an XML-based code file that acts as a blueprint for your shop's vouchers. Because it's code, text elements (such as {{voucher ID}} placeholder for each voucher's unique ID) can be dynamically updated by Flying Fleet before being released to the customer. You may use software like Inkscape, Illustrator, Figma, Canva etc.
